In terrible conditions with a strong wind and rain, Haydock played well in those conditions and their tackling must be commended.

An unbeleivable start to this game saw the Yick fly into a 16 - 0 without the opposition team touching the ball.
The kick off from Rylands was collected by fullback Dean Dollin inside his own 22 mtr area, ran straight at the opposing left hand defensive line, and his speed and hand off, got him away and went at 60 mtrs to the opposing 22 mtr area and passed the ball inside to supporting packman Danny Gee who went the remaining distance to touchdown near the posts for a brilliant try, Dingsdale converted to put Haydock 6 - 0 in front after 2 mins.

Haydock started the better of the teams and a good kick by Dean Dollin down field was knocked on by the Maries player, a scrum was formed with Haydock's head and ball, the ball came out as Bacon passed to Deano who waltzed around the Maries players, and his speed created the gap wide out and scorched in for the first try of the game, to put Haydock 4 - 0 in front after 3 mins.

Haydock travelled to Widnes to register a convincing away win at bottom of the table side Albert Park by 44 - 12, playing some supeb attacking rugby, and tackled well when required, but there only downfall, was once again discipline as they gave far too many penalties away.
